Virgin Mary with the Christ Child · Porcelain Bisque · 8¼″

This lovely Madonna and Child came to us from a now-closed convent. I especially love the way Mary lowers her eyes toward Baby Jesus as she holds Him close. Her soft blue mantle and pale peach gown are edged in gold, with a matching gold rim around the base.

The figure is made of porcelain bisque, stands 8¼ inches tall, and retains its maker’s label indicating Sri Lanka. It’s in great convent-used condition. She’d be lovely on a home altar or beside the chair where you pray your rosary.
