Vintage Praying Virgin Mary — From a Closed Nuns’ Convent

This beautiful vintage statue of Our Blessed Mother comes from a now-closed nuns’ convent. She stands approximately 8¾ inches tall and is beautifully detailed, with her hands folded in prayer, eyes gently lowered, and an ivory mantle accented with delicate floral designs and touches of gold.

She did have a little adventure on her way to us! Her head became detached during shipping, but thankfully my 17-year-old son Winston—one of our resident handymen 😊—carefully repaired her. The repair is hardly noticeable from the front when she is displayed, but noticeable from the back. I always want you to know the history and condition of our treasures.

Perhaps there's even something rather fitting about a beautiful old Blessed Mother statue being lovingly put back together instead of discarded. ❤️

The underside bears the number 5007, which appears to be a model or mold number, along with the remnants of an old label.

A lovely piece for a home altar, Marian prayer corner, bedroom, or Catholic collection—and one that has already lived quite a little story.
