Vintage Our Lady of Fatima Statue from a Closed Convent – Columbia Statuary – Nearly 8"

A beautiful old Catholic treasure with a history of prayer behind it.

This vintage Our Lady of Fatima statue came to us from a now-closed Catholic convent, where devotional pieces such as this would have been part of the everyday spiritual life of the religious community.

Standing nearly 8 inches tall, Our Lady is depicted in her traditional white mantle, her hands reverently folded in prayer and a rosary cascading down the front of her gown. Delicate gold scrollwork adorns her mantle, while the soft, time-worn coloring gives the statue the unmistakable character of an older Catholic devotional piece.

The statue is made of plaster/chalkware and is marked “C.S. 192” on the base, identifying this design with Columbia Statuary. Other surviving examples bearing the C.S. 192 mark are likewise identified as Our Lady of Fatima.

The image recalls the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima, Portugal, in 1917, and especially Our Lady's call to prayer, conversion and devotion to the Holy Rosary.

What makes this particular statue especially meaningful is its convent provenance. It isn't simply a reproduction purchased new from a religious-goods store—it is an older devotional statue that has already spent part of its life within a Catholic religious community.

It shows the lovely evidence of that age. There is surface wear and paint loss consistent with an older plaster statue, as well as a chip along the bottom of the base. Please see photographs for condition. We have chosen to leave it exactly as we received it rather than repaint or restore it, preserving its wonderful vintage character.

Imagine this little statue once standing on a convent shelf, prayer table or sister's dresser, silently witnessing countless Rosaries, prayers and ordinary days lived in service to God.

Now, with the convent closed, Our Lady is ready to find a new Catholic home.
