Vintage Norman Rockwell Limited-Edition Christmas Plate

“Santa in the Subway” — Christmas 1983

Poor Santa! After a long Christmas Eve, even he has to sit down and rest his weary feet. 🤣 This delightful Norman Rockwell scene shows an exhausted Santa riding the subway—while a very surprised little boy peeks around the corner after spotting him.

Originally painted by Norman Rockwell in 1940, Santa in the Subway was reproduced on fine china by the Edwin M. Knowles China Company for Christmas 1983. It is the tenth plate in the annual Norman Rockwell Christmas series and bears the official endorsement of the Rockwell Society of America.

The limited edition was permanently closed on December 24, 1983.
