Some pieces are more than antiques—they are reminders of the people whose discoveries changed the world.
This substantial solid brass mortar and pestle commemorates Joseph Price Remington (1847–1918), one of the most respected American pharmacists and educators of his time. A renowned professor of pharmacy and author of the influential Practice of Pharmacy, Remington helped shape modern pharmaceutical education. His name remains synonymous with excellence in the profession, and his legacy continues through the famous Remington: The Science and Practice of Pharmacy.
Beautifully crafted with rich detail, this heavy brass mortar features an embossed portrait of Joseph Price Remington along with decorative botanical motifs encircling the rim. It is both a functional piece and a striking display item for collectors of pharmacy memorabilia, medical antiques, apothecary décor, or historical scientific instruments.
This particular mortar and pestle comes from my own personal collection, I pray it goes to someone who will appreciate its history and craftsmanship as much as I have.
