Vintage Italian Saint Martin de Porres Statue — 7½"

A beautiful vintage figure of Saint Martin de Porres, lovingly preserved from a now-closed convent.

Made in Italy of hand-painted plaster, Saint Martin is depicted in his Dominican habit holding a crucifix and rosary, with his faithful dog beside him and the humble broom for which he is so well known. The broom symbolizes his belief that every task—even the most ordinary—can become holy when offered to God. 

This meaningful devotional statue stands 7½ inches tall. “Italy” is engraved on the back of the base. There are a few tiny areas of surface paint loss consistent with its age and years of convent use, but it remains in wonderful vintage condition.

A lovely and increasingly difficult-to-find treasure for anyone devoted to Saint Martin de Porres, patron saint of racial harmony, healthcare workers, the poor, and animals.
