This beautiful vintage Infant Jesus of Prague statue comes from a nuns’ convent, where statues such as this were not merely decorations, but part of the prayerful rhythm of daily life.

Standing approximately 13 inches tall, the Infant Jesus is fashioned of plaster and beautifully dressed in an ivory satin gown trimmed with delicate lace and gold detailing. A rich golden mantle falls behind Him, while an ornate red and gold crown topped with a cross rests upon His head.

In His left hand He holds the globus cruciger — the orb surmounted by a cross — symbolizing Christ’s kingship over the world. His right hand is raised in blessing.

The Infant Jesus of Prague

Devotion to the Infant Jesus of Prague has been cherished by Catholics for centuries. The famous original statue is associated with the Carmelite church of Our Lady Victorious in Prague, and devotion to the Holy Child spread throughout the Catholic world.
