Vintage 1982 Black Madonna of Częstochowa 600th Anniversary Polish Porcelain Plate – 9½ Inches

What a beautiful piece of Polish Catholic history!

This vintage porcelain plate depicts Our Lady of Częstochowa—the beloved Black Madonna and Queen of Poland—holding the Christ Child. The Polish inscription surrounding the image reads:

“VI wieków obecności Cudownego Obrazu na Jasnej Górze”

This translates to “Six Centuries of the Presence of the Miraculous Image at Jasna Góra.”

The plate was created to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the arrival of the miraculous icon at Jasna Góra, celebrated in 1982. Our Lady of Częstochowa has been cherished for centuries as the spiritual protector of Poland and holds a very special place in the hearts of Catholics throughout the world.

The plate measures approximately 9½ inches across and features a white porcelain border accented with gold trim. It was made in Poland and bears the Wawel mark on the back. The additional markings indicate that the ceramic form was produced by Zakłady Porcelany Stołowej “Krzysztof” and that the piece was commissioned by Ars Christiana.

A wire hanger has been affixed to the back, allowing it to be displayed immediately in a prayer corner, Catholic home, or collection of Polish religious treasures.

It is in lovely vintage condition, with minor signs of age and previous display. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they are part of the description.

A wonderful devotional treasure for anyone with a love for Our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Częstochowa, Polish Catholic heritage, or the sacred history of Jasna Góra.
