VINTAGE 1981 ST. JOSEPH THE CARPENTER — ROMAN, INC. — CLOSED CONVENT

What a beautiful depiction of St. Joseph the Worker—quietly and faithfully practicing his trade as a carpenter. I especially love the gentle expression and the wonderful little workbench beside him. It captures Joseph not only as the foster father of Jesus, but as the humble craftsman who provided for and protected the Holy Family through the work of his hands.

This vintage figure comes to us from a now-closed nuns’ convent and dates to 1981. It is crafted of porcelain/bisque with lovely hand-painted detailing in soft cream, brown and earthy tones.

Measures approximately 6 1/4 inches tall.

He is in great convent-used vintage condition, with the gentle signs of age one would expect from a devotional piece that is more than 40 years old.
