What a beautiful piece of both faith and family history! This vintage depiction of Leonardo da Vinci’s beloved Last Supper has been applied to a natural oval slice of wood, with the original rustic bark still surrounding the edges.
The paper label on the back reads, “Made by the Cherokees — Qualla Reservation — Cherokee, N.C.” It also bears the numbers 288 and 3201.
Even more precious is the handwritten story preserved on the back. It records that the plaque was purchased on August 19, 1981, during a trip to the Thousand Islands and was later given to Betty and Don for Christmas that same year by Julia and Clarke. I just love finding a treasure whose history has not been lost!
It measures approximately 12 inches long by 7 inches wide
It shows expected vintage surface wear and age-related crazing, all visible in the photograph, but remains a wonderfully warm and meaningful piece for a Catholic home, prayer space, dining room, or family kitchen.
A beautiful reminder that Christ remains at the center of our table and our home. ❤️
