A truly tender and unusual depiction of the Blessed Virgin Mary as a young girl, her gentle face encircled by a delicate halo. Titled Mary Most Holy, this beautiful devotional image was created by noted Catholic artist C. Bosseron Chambers and published by the Edward Gross Company of New York.
This treasured picture came from a now-closed convent and remains protected behind glass in its original-style ornate gold-toned frame. The handwritten convent dedication on the reverse appears to be dated May 1931, giving this piece nearly a century of Catholic history and devotion.
The framed picture measures approximately 13½ inches high by 10½ inches wide. The antique paper backing shows considerable age-related wear and tearing, but the framed image displays beautifully and is ready to hang.
