The Faithful Servant — Vintage Convent St. Jude Plaque

This beautiful wooden plaque depicts St. Jude Thaddeus, beloved patron of desperate situations and seemingly impossible causes.

St. Jude is shown with the image of Christ upon his chest and the flame of Pentecost above his head. Surrounding him are the Latin words:

“Ecce fidelis servus et prudens”

“Behold a faithful and prudent servant.”

Framed in an ornate Gothic-style arch, this lovely devotional measures approximately 5½ inches tall and is ready to bring encouragement to a prayer corner, bedside, or Catholic home altar.

Most meaningfully, it came from a now-closed convent, where it was once part of the sisters’ religious life.

It remains in lovely convent-used condition, with visible age-related wear to the finish that adds to its old-world character and history.
