St. Thérèse of Lisieux — Seated with an Open Book — 4½ Inches — From a Closed Convent

A little saint with a beautiful lesson for our busy, sometimes weary hearts: we can love God right where we are. ❤️

This sweet 4½-inch statue of St. Thérèse comes from a now-closed convent. She is depicted seated in her brown Carmelite habit and black veil, with her hands resting over an open book—a quiet, thoughtful portrayal of the beloved Little Flower.

Thérèse entered the Carmelite convent in Lisieux at just fifteen and lived a largely hidden life. Through her autobiography, Story of a Soul, her teaching reached far beyond the convent walls. Her Little Way encourages us to approach God with a child’s trust and offer Him the ordinary moments of our lives with love.

For those of us tending families, caring for loved ones, or doing work that nobody seems to notice, her message is wonderfully comforting. A gentle answer, a small sacrifice, an unnoticed kindness—each can become an offering to God.

Turn this statue over and you’ll find a particularly lovely detail: an aged Little Flower Society prayer label from Chicago, Illinois, asking St. Thérèse to teach us her Little Way and recalling her beloved “Shower of Roses.”

At just 4½ inches tall, she would fit beautifully beside a favorite spiritual book, on a bedside table, or in a small prayer corner. A thoughtful gift for someone devoted to St. Thérèse—or someone who needs encouragement in the quiet work of everyday life.

St. Thérèse, pray for us. Teach us to trust Jesus and offer Him the little things with love.
