What a beautiful devotional statue of Saint Rita of Cascia, beloved patroness of impossible causes, difficult marriages, troubled families, and seemingly hopeless situations. ❤️

This lovely statue came to us from a now-closed convent, where devotional pieces such as this were part of the everyday rhythm of religious life and prayer.

Saint Rita is depicted in her traditional Augustinian habit, holding the Crucifix close to her heart. On her forehead is the wound associated with the extraordinary grace she received while contemplating Christ’s Passion—a wound traditionally believed to have come from a thorn from Our Lord’s Crown of Thorns.

She has glorious detailing, from the gentle expression on her face to the folds of her habit and the little Crucifix she holds.

She stands an impressive 11 5/8 inches tall and retains her PABEN maker’s label on the base.

She is in great convent-used condition, with the sort of gentle signs of age and use that we treasure in devotional pieces that have actually lived a life of prayer.

There is something especially touching about rescuing these beautiful sacramentals when convents and religious houses close. Rather than being forgotten, they can find their way into another Catholic home and continue to inspire prayer for another generation. ❤️

Saint Rita of Cascia, Patroness of Impossible Causes, pray for us!

A wonderful addition to a home altar, prayer corner, bedroom, or Catholic collection—and especially meaningful for someone presently carrying an intention that seems impossible.
