What a beautiful and unusual Madonna and Child! I almost kept it!

This lovely 10 ½-inch Madonna and Child statue comes from a now-closed nuns’ convent, where it was part of the sisters’ religious surroundings. Made of resin, it has wonderful detailing, from Our Lady’s gentle expression and flowing garments to the sweet Christ Child resting peacefully in her arms.

Beside Our Lady is a small vase or vessel, which makes this piece especially interesting. It could be used to hold a prayer request, small flower, blessed palm, devotional sprig, or another little sacramental or devotional item—a beautiful way to personalize a Marian prayer corner or home altar.

Even more special, the underside retains its original FUNDACION LAS ROSAS maker’s label, identifying the maker rather than leaving this beautiful piece unmarked.

She stands approximately 10 ½ inches tall and is in great convent-used condition, with the character one would expect from an item that was actually used and displayed in a religious community.
