SIX (6) BAGS of HAWTHORN LEAF
The hawthorn is a heart herb in the rose family. It's flowers combined with its deeply lobed, rose-like leaves, and brown woody stems is to be used in teas and tinctures to treat the heart.
Hawthorn leaf is antispasmodic, cardiac, diuretic, sedative, tonic and vasodilator. Hawthorn leaf has a hypotensive effect as well as acting as a direct and mild heart tonic. There is considerable clinical evidence that hawthorn leaf is an effective treatment for mild coronary insufficiency, when there is pressure and tightness in the chest accompanied by a slow heart rate and symptoms of congestive heart failure. The flavonoids in the leaf and flower improve circulation in the heart and increase the myocardium's ability to withstand oxygen deprivation.

FAQ'S

HOW DO I USE IT? This is a fresh, loose tea for best therapeutic results. Being that it is a loose tea we do things a bit differently (but it is very easy!). To one cup of boiling water add one rounded tsp. of herb tea. Cover mug or sauce pan and let steep for 3-5 minutes for a tea or 14-15 minutes for therapeutic use. By covering with a lid while it steeps you are able to keep the medicinal properties of the tea from escaping. Filter or strain the herbs out (strainer, spoon, tea ball or what ever method you wish). For Ice tea Steep and then refrigerate. I suggest that folks use 1-2 times a day. I find that you really don't need that much. 2 cups a day should give you a good result.
