A beautiful old-world devotional medal honoring St. Raphael the Archangel, one of the three Archangels named in Sacred Scripture and traditionally invoked for healing, protection, safe travel, and God’s guidance.

This substantial 1" bronze medal was cast from an antique medal, preserving the character and devotional beauty of the original. Its unusual quatrefoil shape is richly ornamented, with St. Raphael depicted at the center.

The reverse bears the heartfelt invocation:

“ST. RAPHAEL
PRESERVE US
FROM ILL HEALTH
AND ALL DANGER
TO LIFE”

These words beautifully reflect St. Raphael’s role in the Book of Tobit. Sent by God, Raphael accompanied the young Tobias on his journey, protected him along the way, helped deliver Sarah from affliction, and instructed Tobias in the means through which his father Tobit’s sight was restored. His name is traditionally understood to mean “God heals.”
