St. Augustine and the Triumph of a Mother's Love & Prayer!

St. Augustine and the Triumph of a Mother's Love & Prayer!

    +JMJ

    Dear family,

On August 28th, we commemorated St. Augustine, a revered bishop and a distinguished doctor of the Church, whose spiritual journey continues to resonate with Catholic mothers everywhere.

There existed a period of time when St. Augustine's soul seemed completely ensnared by darkness, a time when redemption appeared nearly impossible!

Yet, in the end, it was the unwavering love and devotion of his mother that emerged victorious.
    .
As he embarked on his studies in Carthage, academic success beckoned him, becoming both a source of pride and a gateway to temptation.
    .
The embrace of sinful influences enveloped him, and his battle with self-control and chastity waged on.
    .
But within the darkness, a glimmer of hope endured.
    .

St. Monica, relentless in her love and prayers, never wavered in her devotion to her son and husband.

Her determined prayer and guidance helped lead them both to the Lord.
    .

Ultimately, bolstered by the grace of God, nurtured by his mother's steadfast prayers, and under the influence of St. Ambrose, St. Augustine experienced a transformative moment of clarity and conviction.

His famed repentance in the Milanese garden marked the turning point.

Augustine's journey took an extraordinary turn, propelling him into the ranks of a fervent disciple of Christ.
    .
His legacy continued to grow, positioning him as one of the Church's foremost bishops and theologians.
    .

In the saga of St. Augustine and St. Monica, we find solace and great hope!

Their lives mirror our contemporary world, where countless hearts grapple between earthly allure and the realm of God's kingdom.

Yet, we possess an even more compassionate maternal presence—the heart of Mary Immaculate, a refuge in tumultuous times.

Emulating St. Monica's example and heeding the guidance of Our Lady, let us unite in praying the Rosary for our world, our families, and ourselves.

Never stop praying, dear mother...miracles still happen!

---Some of the many wee ones we've helped---

    ---HELP IF YOU CAN----

Here is a post, from a recipient of what we do,.

L**** and I were one of the precipitants of This mission. She is right. My parking was 9 per day for 3 months. Then on top of that food cost me approximately 15 per day. That was cheap - I got vouchers for $5.00 per meal. So somedays I did not eat or made meals last for more then one meal. Had to. Parking was $810. Food was $1,300. Then you have normal household bills and I have 3 animals I had to pay to have people come and take care of them. At first I had my dog in the Kennel for 1/2 the time. That was about 500. It is VERY expensive to have a sick child. That was Just ONE hospital stay. We have had numerous ones. Some only a few days, some a week or two. Without their help we would of gone fully under!

From providing necessary funds to actually having families stay with us...we DO what we say we do!
