Inspired by Saint Brother André, who trusted wholeheartedly in Saint Joseph’s intercession, the Oil of Saint Joseph carries forward a cherished tradition of healing.

Saint Joseph, lovingly invoked at life’s pivotal moments and in the face of minor worries, was a steadfast guide to Brother André, a humble doorkeeper turned visionary founder of the Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal.

This shrine, the largest in the world dedicated to Saint Joseph, became a haven for prayer, many miraculous healings, and renewed hope for countless pilgrims.

Brother André began the tradition of offering Saint Joseph’s Oil, encouraging the sick to anoint themselves while praying for his intercession. 

He believed in Saint Joseph’s care, famously stating, “He lets no one fall by the wayside.” This simple act of faith continues today, as oil burns perpetually before Saint Joseph’s statue at the Oratory, collected and made available to the faithful.
