Dear family,
It hurts my heart to see so much of our world becoming automated—self-checkouts, robotic customer service, AI this and AI that.
I understand that some of these advancements are needed and can be helpful, but at what cost?
We are human.
We are made for connection.
When I was a young teen, I worked at a grocery store, and I will never forget an older woman who came through my line.
She had just a few small items, one of each.
As I rang her up, she looked at me with tear-filled eyes and said, "I lost my husband of over 50 years last week."
My heart broke for her.
I told her how very sorry I was and promised to pray for her.
When I handed her the bag, she gently squeezed my hand and thanked me as if that simple exchange meant the world to her.
That moment has stayed with me all these years.
And I can’t help but wonder—what happens to people like her in a world that is slowly replacing human connection with machines?
A self-checkout doesn’t see the tears in someone’s eyes.
An automated message doesn’t hear the pain in their voice.
That is why I am making changes in my businesses, in my Facebook groups, and everywhere I can.
I refuse to let "connection" slip away.
I want everyone who crosses my path to feel seen, heard, loved, and cared for.
I want folks to feel like family, because that’s what we are—brothers and sisters in Christ.
If you’re reading this, know that you are loved.
You matter.
And you are never alone.
I am your sister in Christ.
I love you.
Sending our love and prayers to our remnant family...Wendy, Walt and the entire Cukierski family
