Dear family,
I guess we all do what we do for a reason.
In the 1990's I gave birth to a baby that was physically unable to latch on to the breast.
After 2 weeks, he was losing weight and they gave a "failure to thrive" diagnosis.
I cried and cried and cried...thinking I was going to lose this child (he is alive and well, thank you, Jesus!)
We went to formula and it appeared that was working, but weight gain was slow.
We changed from one formula to another.
Finally, we found one that worked for him.
I worried so much that I couldn't eat and lost 15 pounds in just a few weeks.
So, this formula shortage has had me twisted in a knot.
We are currently helping underweight babies that can only tolerate a certain formula.
There are many others we are helping, but these babies bring back memories that bother me terribly.
THIS is why I get upset when folks say, "Just breastfeed"
Trust me, I wish it had been that simple.
We didn't have a formula shortage back then and I was twisted in a knot...mothers are crying and upset because of the double whammy.

I have been so busy securing and buying formula..and now I have to take care of the other families in need, with sick children.
Broke out in a lovely case of rosacea from the stress... and then got a sunburn trying to get my garden and orchards in.
My face is on fire, but I'm offering it up...lol :)
