    Dear family,

    I finally figured out that it doesn't matter if I'm doing business, washing dishes, cleaning toilets, wiping counters or some other chore...I can find Jesus if I go "within" and offer it up as a prayer.

    We are the temples of the Holy Spirit and the Spirit resides within! If we learn to go within we can find that great tranquility and peace.

    I remember when I was a younger mother with many children ( I have thirteen)... I would beg God to help me become a saint in between the pots and pans and diaper changes (..and boys who couldn't aim, if you know what I mean...lol!)

    Little did I realize that THIS was drawing me to God and a holier life.

    It was the menial tasks that gave glory to God and helped to humble and sanctify me.

    There's something to be said for Christian humility and simplicity and doing our everyday chores without grumbling.

    My one desire was to be in communion with God at all times.

    Not easy when you're a mom who feels exhausted and sometimes overwhelmed...but..possible and worth it ♡

    Now, I write and talk about those hard times to encourage others.

    If you need prayer, I'll offer my next chore up for you ♡

    Wellsley Christine's Arikara Sunflower   


     My daughter Wellsley Christine grows these every year on our farm. She then saves the seed and she has some she said she will share with you!

    It is a native variety that was used by the Arikara nation in North Dakota.  


    All summer long she trims off the smaller heads that grow along the stalk and makes beautiful bouquets for our dining room table!

    They produce many beautiful large, bright yellow flowers with black centers.

    It produces 10-foot tall plants.  She has had had them grow as tall as 13'!

    The seeds are edible and yes, we eat them! We have to fight the birds for them, first..lol!  

    Traditionally grown for its masses of edible seeds

    If you have a garden, consider planting these as they attract bee's and butterflies. A key to a healthy garden!

    This heirloom seed produces flowers over a long period and as you can see, my youngest loves hiding in them (picture on the left, do you see him?)

    Here is a post, from a recipient of what we do,.

    L**** and I were one of the precipitants of This mission. She is right. My parking was 9 per day for 3 months. Then on top of that food cost me approximately 15 per day. That was cheap - I got vouchers for $5.00 per meal. So somedays I did not eat or made meals last for more then one meal. Had to. Parking was $810. Food was $1,300. Then you have normal household bills and I have 3 animals I had to pay to have people come and take care of them. At first I had my dog in the Kennel for 1/2 the time. That was about 500. It is VERY expensive to have a sick child. That was Just ONE hospital stay. We have had numerous ones. Some only a few days, some a week or two. Without their help we would of gone fully under!

    From providing necessary funds to actually having families stay with us...we DO what we say we do!
