Daily Encouragement & Specials- It's more than likely in our DNA

    Dear family,

Research shows some folks are born with kindness in their blood.

True story...and it's more than likely in our DNA.

Research shows people who are more caring and trustworthy share a common gene variation that is linked to the receptor for oxytocin, often referred to as the "love hormone." Oxytocin plays a vital role in the formulation of social bonds and relationships, impacting a person's capacity for empathy.

Evidence suggests those with two "G" variants of this gene are better with people and generally more caring, compared to those who have at least one "A" variant.

In a study conducted by researchers from Toronto, California and Oregon, the genotypes of 46 individuals (23 romantic couples) were identified as either GG, AG or AA.

The researchers videotaped the couples and asked one partner to describe a painful experience to his or her significant other. Outside observers were then asked to watch the videos and rate the partner who listened on how supportive, caring and trustworthy he or she seemed.

The study ultimately found the individuals who received the highest ratings for compassion, trustworthiness and empathy shared the GG genotype.

Given the outside observers identified people with the same genotype as more trusting and caring, this suggests most of us are quite adept at immediately discerning whether someone is reliable and if that person would stand up for us if necessary.

Compassion is so powerful people can sense it in others.

I'm sensing some very compassionate folks...calling on all my "GG"'s

-----FROM YESTERDAY - ASKING FOR HELP IS HARD-----

Asking for help is hard. My preferred route is to go it alone.

My thought process is usually... I should be able to handle this. I'll figure it out.  I don’t want to burden or annoy anyone else with asking for help, again.

Looking at Scripture, it’s clear that God wants us to acknowledge when we need help.

We are free to seek help, even encouraged and commanded to do so!
I think about how God made Adam to need Eve...he needed another person. I need YOU!
    .

God said that his own creation was not complete until he had built in a way for people to give and receive help – even before sin came into the world, it has been God’s design for us to need help and give help to each other.

This means our need for help is not shameful or equal to failure. God built into us a need for help from the very beginning.

Sometimes we avoid asking for help out of fear that it will be a burden or nuisance to others.

God wants us to help each other in times of struggle.

Scripture commands it: “Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). When you ask someone else to help you bear a burden, you are giving them an opportunity to serve God and share Christ’s love with you.
    .
I have a record number of families we are currently assisting (from the basics such as food, shelter, gas money to adaptive clothing, covering costs that insurance won't cover and so on)
    .
Last night I was made aware of a large young family and the mother is pregnant and given only weeks to live.
    .
I can't give more details until given permission to do so.
    .
Walt sends these families checks each month to help them cover living expenses.
    .
God keeps sending families to us, who need help and we keep trying to run more and more offers and sales to help provide the funds needed to help them..but it hasn't been enough as we still have to pay for product.
    .

God has designed us to need help, and we honor him in asking for it.

I am humbly asking for help so we can assist the families that God has sent to us.  Head HERE if you can help and I will include you in a month of Masses and send a gift (unless you instruct otherwise).

---Some of the many wee ones we've helped---

    ---HELP IF YOU CAN----

Here is a post, from a recipient of what we do,.

L**** and I were one of the precipitants of This mission. She is right. My parking was 9 per day for 3 months. Then on top of that food cost me approximately 15 per day. That was cheap - I got vouchers for $5.00 per meal. So somedays I did not eat or made meals last for more then one meal. Had to. Parking was $810. Food was $1,300. Then you have normal household bills and I have 3 animals I had to pay to have people come and take care of them. At first I had my dog in the Kennel for 1/2 the time. That was about 500. It is VERY expensive to have a sick child. That was Just ONE hospital stay. We have had numerous ones. Some only a few days, some a week or two. Without their help we would of gone fully under!

From providing necessary funds to actually having families stay with us...we DO what we say we do!
