The devil knows when you hate someone and will fuel that hate with every provocation he can find. Those provocations can be pure fiction, outright lies, miscommunications, propaganda, or even mistakes and sins of the person hated. All poured onto the fire of our disdain to keep that blackened flame alive.
Why? The devil also knows Scripture. He knows that love of God and love of neighbor are intimately tied. If he can keep our heart turned against our neighbor, he can keep our heart turned against God. If he can fool us into believing that religious practice can mask our hate and fool God, all the better. If he can get us to gleefully carry hate, grudges, disdain, bias, prejudice, and condemnation of entire groups like iron crosses, he will. If he can convince us that in the name of protecting my church, my country, my family, or myself, it is permissible to leap scorn on others, he will. He knows hate breeds division. The devil is all about division.
You see our religious practice isn't there to mask dark behavior but to spur us to holiness. Hatred of neighbor, even if thoroughly justified, is incompatible with love of God. This doesn't mean I must approve of evil, only that I understand I must love my neighbor nonetheless. The devil will keep us in a cocoon of smugness and self righteousness to justify our hate. Christ died on the cross to break us out of that cocoon, the shatter the iron crosses of hate we carry.
Maybe the target of our hate is a race. Maybe it is person who hurt us. Maybe it is a president, political party, or public figure. Maybe it is a pope, bishop, priest, ideological group within the Church. Maybe it is a few teenagers who have taken on a cause we oppose. It is one thing to argue points, it is another to show public ridicule, scorn, and hand out scarlet letters.
Perhaps we fight the devil. Perhaps we take the wasted time and energy used to let everyone know who we scorn and redirect that to prayer for those individuals. Did not Jesus tell us to love our enemies? Did He not tell us to do good to those who persecute us? Did He not tell us to pray for those who harm us? Perhaps others have a different Bible than I and I am missing the part about being told to publicly scorn and flog others. No doubt, someone will point out that Jesus did tell us that when fraternal correction fails, to treat the person as we would as public sinner...which is all fine and good until we realize how He treated public sinners.
As we are in the tomb on the Holy Saturday, we resolve to leave those hates in the tomb and rise to new life free of these iron bonds. Hatred and scorn for our neighbor is incompatible with the resurrection. We condemn sin. We love the sinner. - Fr. Bill Peckman

UTI's are the second-most common infection in the

I have had more UTI's than I can count...I feel your pain!
My first one was at the age of 17 and it was so bad that I was passing blood (which is my usual).

Here is a post, from a recipient of what we do,.
L**** and I were one of the precipitants of This mission. She is right. My parking was 9 per day for 3 months. Then on top of that food cost me approximately 15 per day. That was cheap - I got vouchers for $5.00 per meal. So somedays I did not eat or made meals last for more then one meal. Had to. Parking was $810. Food was $1,300. Then you have normal household bills and I have 3 animals I had to pay to have people come and take care of them. At first I had my dog in the Kennel for 1/2 the time. That was about 500. It is VERY expensive to have a sick child. That was Just ONE hospital stay. We have had numerous ones. Some only a few days, some a week or two. Without their help we would of gone fully under!
From providing necessary funds to actually having families stay with us...we DO what we say we do!
