Prayer to The Sacred Heart - with Indulgence

| Categories: PRAYERS | | 5 Comments

An Indulgence is given.

 So...what exactly is an indulgence?

An indulgence is "a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven, which the faithful Christian who is duly disposed gains under certain prescribed conditions through the action of the Church which, as the minister of redemption, dispenses and applies with authority the treasury of the satisfactions of Christ and the saints"

So...let us PRAY:

O most holy heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you, and with lively sorrow for my sins I offer you this poor heart of mine.

Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to your will. Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you. Protect me in the midst of danger.

Comfort me in my afflictions. Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, your blessing  on all that I do, and the grace  of a holy death. Amen.

Love and Blessings, Wendy C.

Dearest Wendy,

Thank you for leading with the enclosed indulgence prayer. It blesses me greatly.

My birthday is March 10th. Would you please pray on that day that the Lord would grant me a day of abiding quiet peace and joy. I am in an abusive marriage and my husband almost ruined Ash Wednesday for me, but for the Grace of God. He is so merciful and good. I made it to all three nights of our Lenten retreat at my Parish, St. Ann of Clayton, NC.

You inspire me so, Proverbs 31 lady! May God continue to bless and protect you and your beautiful family. The full quiver is an especially beautiful gift from the Lord. Children are an inheritance from the Lord. May you continue to walk in Godly beauty and divine Wisdom

With Love,
Lisa Peppel
