Antique Medals
These are rare replicas of antique religious pieces, cast by hand in bronze or sterling silver!
Many wonderful religious medals and artifacts are fast disappearing into private collections, never to be seen again. Fortunately, we have been able to find help in bringing these antique pieces back.
Because of the great value of antiquity, each antique medal is cast "as is"...many you find are wonderfully mellowed by wear and history.
**Please note that the pictures are larger than the actual size of the medal. See description for the actual size.
Sterling silver and other metal prices have fluctuated over time and continue to rise. Please, note that prices may rise in the future. Each antique replica will come with a free relic card as our gift.

ST. MICHAEL MEDAL
ANTIQUE MEDAL FROM 1830
ST. MICHAEL PROTECTS AND HEALS!
It was St. Michael who caused a medicinal spring to spout at Chairotopa near Colossae, where all the sick who bathed there, invoking the Blessed Trinity and St. Michael, were cured.
Not only has he been known to help heal the sick, he is the field commander of the Army of God! He is mentioned by name in the Book of Daniel, the Book of Jude and the Book of Revelation, in which he leads God's armies against Satan's forces!
In addition to fighting against satan, he rescues the souls of the faithful from the power of the enemy, especially at the hour of death (one of the four offices of St. Michael).
In Hebrew, Michael means "who is like God" . This antique recast medal we offer is just as special as St. Michael's name. It is recast from an antique medal over 175 years old!
The picture does not show how intricate the design is. I fell in love with it when I was able to finally hold one in my hand. The Blessed Mother is on back. They don't make medal's like this anymore!
We are thrilled to be able to offer this very unique bronze medal which is approx. 1" (shown larger for detail..we do not have silver at the moment).
ANTIQUE
CROSS OF CARAVACA
Antique recast medal!
This is not only a beautiful Antique medal, it comes with a MIRACULOUS HISTORY behind it (read below)!
This Antique medal recast is from Spain during the 1800's. It is a solid piece and is approx. 2 1/4" in length.
HISTORY BEHIND
THIS SPECIAL CARAVACA CROSS:
This is "The Cross of Miracles" according to many!
In the year 1232, a miracle occurred in the Spanish town of Caravaca de la Cruz. A missionary priest named Don Gínes Pérez Chirinos de Cuenca was captured and taken before the Muslim king who was curious about "the Mass". He wanted him to demonstrate the procedure. He refused at first, but finally agreed. The king arranged for the necessary items: an altar draped with a pall cloth, bread and wine, and some candles. However, a crucifix was missing.
The
priest explained that the presence of a crucifix was critical to the Mass
and he could not
continue
without one.
No sooner had he spoken these words than the chamber was flooded brilliant light and two angels appeared, bearing a 2-armed cross, the Vera Cruz of Caravaca, containing wood from the true cross of Jesus Christ!
News of this Miraculous Crucifix spread and it gained a reputation as a powerful protector and healer in the centuries to come.
The miracles didn't stop there: Eventually, the town passed to the Knights Templar who, in the 15th century, built the castle that still dominates the town today. At one time, the Knights Templar and townsfolk were under siege by the Muslim army and took refuge in the castle. It wasn't long before the water stored in the castle became unpotable and several of the refugees became ill. Scouts crept out of the castle at night to look for water but found the neighbouring wells had been poisoned. In desperation, the scouts raced out of the castle on horses to find a safe source of water. They found some wine, loaded the wineskins on their horses and raced back to the castle.
The wine was blessed in the presence the Caravaca Cross and served to those who had been debilitated by the bad water. They recovered immediately and the blessed wine was mixed with the toxic water in the storage tanks. The water became fresh and as a result, the Christians were able to resist the enemy!
Today, an annual fiesta is held in the town to remember those events, which includes a ceremony to bless the irrigation water used by Caravaca farmers.
Because of these miracles and the relic of the True Cross, in 1998 Caravaca de la Cruz became the fifth holy town celebrating the Perpetual Jubilee in the Vera Cruz Sanctuary where the Caravaca Cross is kept.
Also of Note: Franciscan monks travelled to the Americas, taking copies of the Caravaca cross with them. This cross is also used by archbishops and patriarchs. This crucifix is still popular in Central and South American churches and monasteries. Houses and business hang this Caravaca Cross on the wall(s). You may also choose to wear it.

ARCHANGEL
RAPHAEL "Preserve Us " MEDAL
This particular piece is recast by hand from an old antique medal.
On the
front is the Archangel Raphael and on the back is a special prayer which
reads,
"St. Raphael, Preserve us from ill health and all danger to life."
The Archangel Raphael is POWERFUL. In fact his name means "Medicine of God" in Hebrew!
Why is
the Archangel Raphael so powerful?
---He is also one of the seven Archangels that stand before the very throne
of God chanting hymns of unending praise.
---It is said that when we pray for his help, he directly intercedes for
us to God the Father.
---In the Old Testament, he healed Tobit of blindness, protected him on
his travels and delivered Sarah from an evil demon!
---He is the healing and deliverance Archangel!
They simply do not make medal's like this anymore! We are thrilled to be able to offer this very unique bronze medal which is approx. 1".
MARY
AND THE BELOVED DISCIPLE AT THE FOOT OF THE CROSS ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER
MEDAL
Just like our faith, The Blessed Mother's faith was tested too. She was put to the hardest test of all.
Standing by the foot of the Cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother: 'Woman, behold your son.' Then he said to his disciple, 'Behold your mother.' And from that hour the disciple took her into his home" (Jn 19:25).
The same faith that Mary had at the birth of Her Son was the one she had at the Cross. Let this medal remind us of the importance of faith!
This solid sterling silver medal is 1 1/4" long.
Antique
Bronze & Silver Crucifix Medal.
This is a stunning and very detailed antique re-casting of a very old Bronze and solid Silver Crucifix.
The corpus is solid silver and the cross is bronze.
It is almost 2" in length.
These are truly a unique crucifix!
This includes a Holy Relic Card, too!
SCAPULAR/SACRED
HEART MEDAL from 1890.
This is our most popular antique medal and we don't have a large inventory of it. The picture doesn't do it justice! Absolutely gorgeous. I'm so happy that this medal was saved for us all to enjoy! This particular medal is recast from the year 1890.
The Latin text on the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel side translates to "Mary the Splendor of Carmel" while the Sacred Heart side reads "Behold the very heart burning with such love for men". (thank you to my friend Alice for this!)
Looks absolutely stunning on a chain. Some folks make chaplets with this medal. Other folks attach this medal to their rosaries. So many uses. It's a big, solid bronze medal at approx. 1".
Leather Necklace
This
rolled leather necklace looks great by itself or with one of our Antique
Catholic Medals attached!
It is 24 inches in
length with a 2-inch extender chain if needed. Has a wonderful, strong lobster-claw
clasp. The 2-inch extender chain is also great for adding pendants.
